Interested in jumping into a PPC campaign to start advertising your small business? You’ve come to the right place!
This RLC Media series will help you through your first steps before jumping all the way into PPC and will continue through campaign optimizations and research. Before any successful PPC campaign can begin, a series of steps and considerations need to be reviewed by yourself and your business plan. Luckily, you have us to guide you through these steps. Here is a list of 5 things to consider before setting up your first campaign:
1.) KNOW PAY PER CLICK
No, you don’t need to know the ins-and-outs of AdWords, but an understanding of how the auction works, general terms of the industry, and the How/When your ads are shown. Before anything else, know the Return On Investment that is available through this form of advertisement, at what levels of success and failure that can occur when using PPC. For a general understanding of PPC terms, check out our Glossary, or for a full understanding of launching a campaign, contact an RLC Media rep at info@RLCmedia.com today for guidance.
2.) WEB DESIGN
Your website is the most important part of your campaign. Ads can easily bring in visits to your site, but if it isn’t appealing and easy to navigate, you’re going to have a very difficult time of keeping them engaged in your service or offer. Take a look at competitors websites, and how they may differ from yours. Write down the pros and cons of websites that generate a lot of traffic and take note at how the site itself is laid out. Doing so may increase both your customer engagement rates on your site, and also the conversions you make. Just remember: Create a site that is engaging and informative for its visitors.
3.) GET YOUR CODE ON
Little snippets of code on your site can give you a wealth of information about who is actually visiting your site, what they click on, and how they navigate around your site. This is a must for optimizing your site, and to fully understand what people want. Need to know why/where you’re losing customers? Look at your analytics. Where are the most conversions occurring, and where are you losing customers? Look at your Goals and Conversion codes. How many calls do you get from people on your site? Tag those numbers! How will you attract those who have already visited your site but didn’t convert? Retarget them!
Making sure all of your codes, tags, and conversions are in place before launching your campaign can save a lot of headaches and optimization nightmares. Our knowledgable team can hep you put some tags in place to help keep track of your goals and conversions.
4.) HAVE A STRATEGY
Before you jump in, know what you are trying to accomplish with your campaign. There are a variety of options whether you want website leads, site conversions, calls, or just a general branding effort to get your name out. Get in contact with an RLC Media rep to get a free PPC strategy that is catered to you today.
5.) COMMIT
It is easy to become discouraged by a PPC account. With the right amount of planning, understanding, and dedication, you can create a successful and well-oiled campaign that gets results. Success can come from a range of budgets, from $500/month to $100,000/month. We recommend your new campaign to run a few months when first launching as this gives appropriate time for optimizing, keyword bids, and quality Ads and Copy to perform.
